Join the Langs Bus Lines Team

All School Bus Drivers require an Ontario Class B Driver’s License to operate a bus. However, most applicants come to us with their Class G license (very normal!) and we provide you the FREE B license upgrading to then drive a school bus.

No prior experience with buses is needed. We do require that you’ve had your G license for a minimum of 2 years, to demonstrate that you have existing on-road experience.

When interviewing candidates, we are always looking for reliable drivers with good communication skills who want to be a constant, dependable part of their student’s day.

Drivers are guaranteed a minimum of 17.5 hours of pay, each week, with the average hours falling between 17.5 and 20.5 hours (depending on the length and number of stops in your route).

Buses normally return to a Langs parking lot (or as we call it, a ‘bus yard’). In some rural cases and where permitted, drivers may park the bus at home.

Our training will go through typical scenarios that you may encounter with students on the bus and provides a framework for how you can assess, document, and manage the situation with the help of your Branch Managers.

No. Only authorized students may ride. If a parent requests to ride, direct them to contact the Langs office.

School buses use “compartmentalization” for safety, including high-back, energy-absorbing seats designed to protect passengers without seat belts.
